G-Dragon recently shared on BIGBANG member Daesung's YouTube channel that each song he produces for the group holds a special place in his heart. Each track carries memories from the time he spent creating it and the period when BIGBANG promoted it together.
When Daesung asked him which BIGBANG song had been the most profitable, G-Dragon admitted it’s difficult to pinpoint exact figures for each song. With over 165 registered songs to his name, G-Dragon explained that he receives his earnings in a single annual payment based on the combined profit of his entire catalogue, making it hard to track individual song royalties.

However, he does recall two songs that have consistently topped the charts in Korean karaoke rooms, or noraebang, bringing in the highest earnings…
"The funny thing is, if I only had one song registered, I could compare its earnings. But as the number of songs keeps growing each year, I can't track the royalty fees for each one. I just remember the ones that ranked number one in karaoke rooms…” said G-Dragon.
Surprisingly, the two songs that emerged as the most popular in noraebang weren’t traditional BIGBANG hits but rather Daesung’s solo tracks, "Look At Me, Gwisoon" and "A Big Hit!"
G-Dragon revealed that "Look At Me, Gwisoon" has an amusing origin story. The song came about after he was “dumped” during a parody blind date on KMTV’s Idol World in 2007. The show featured a segment spoofing the popular Mnet blind date show Thrilling Blind Date, where BIGBANG members went on fictional dates with a woman named Um Gwi Seon.
After being “heartbroken” from this comedic elimination, a young G-Dragon quickly sketched out a rough version of "Look At Me, Gwisoon" as a joke. Eventually, it became a full-fledged solo track for Daesung, which has since become a noraebang classic among Koreans.
It’s clear that for G-Dragon, the memories attached to these songs are just as valuable as their success in karaoke rooms.
