Popular Malaysian singer and actor, Alif Satar recalls his fond memories of growing up in a flat in Wangsa Maju as a child.

Through a post uploaded by Alif on his Instagram page, he said he grew up in the flat house from 1990 to 1997 and then moved to the United Kingdom (UK) because his parents continued their studies there.
At an interview, Alif said that he was one of the “Budak Flat” or “flat boys” - a term that Malaysians have been using to describe those who grew up living in a flat in Kuala Lumpur in the 90s.
After his parents had completed their studies, Alif returned to the area and lived there until 2000 before moving to Hartamas to start a new life.
Much to his delight, the 32-year-old artist had the opportunity to return to his old home, and this time with his three children, “This is where I grew up as a child. All my memories are here. When I was taking my kids for a walk, it seemed like all the old neighbours were here!” he said in his Instagram caption.
“They are doing well. And I wish them all the best,” he continued.
In his post, Alif also reminded his followers to remember where they came from, “Never forget your roots no matter how far you’ve come. Respect your parents, respect your professors, respect those who are always at your side.”
