If you?ve ever felt like the 3-meter smoking law in Malaysia was bad, this news might make you feel at least a little grateful we aren?t in Singapore.
On Sunday, some random dude kena saman worth about RM600 ($200 SGD) in Singapore, not because he was smoking outside those li'l yellow boxes, nope. He was inside the yellow box. He just forgot to keep his foot in there with him.
It appears that the dude was smoking at Orchard Road around 6pm inside one of the yellow box designated smoking areas. During which, he was confronted by an auxiliary police officer because his foot was outside the yellow line. The dude told the officer that he ?legit didn?t know? and that he would move his foot inside the box.
Unfortunately, the officer tak kasi chance langsung and issued him a fine instead. You can check out the saman given to him below:

The dude shared the ticket saman on Facebook to warn others on how strict Singaporean law enforcers are when it comes to designated smoking areas.
Do you think the saman was fair? We?re definitely thankful that all we have here in Malaysia is just a general 3-meter rule now!
