Tower running races occur in some of the world’s most iconic buildings such as the Eiffel Tower and the Empire State Building, and for those who don’t know, Malaysia has its own tower runner who is currently breaking records over and over!

Soh Wai Ching, a Malaysian from Selayang began his career in tower running in 2017 when a friend told him to compete in a competition, and after 50 races across the world, recently he won first place in the “Tunnel to Towers Climb NYC” competition after successfully running up the One World Trade Center in New York in less than 30 minutes.

That is 2226 steps and 104 floors! This further proves why he still holds the title of the World No.1 Tower Runner. Amazing!

“Clocked a 12:46 minute. Won the race but wasn’t my best time as this is my first time here. Now I have a better understanding of the stairs, so next year will be much better,” he wrote in his Instagram post.

He also recently completed a run up the One Penn Plaza which has 1210 steps and 55 floors. That is crazy!

We can’t wait to see what’s next for this 2020 Guinness World Record holder! We wish you all the best and may he continue to make Malaysia proud!
