We’re All Super Bored And It Shows

If you’ve been living under a rock and don’t know what’s been going on since the implementation of the Movement Control Order on 18 March... well, let us recap everything for you!

DALGONA COFFEE

You would’ve come across this on social media at least once! The Dalgona Coffee trend began on TikTok with the hashtag #dalgonacoffee, and the trend soon spread like wildfire across Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

All you need to make this pretty-looking coffee is white sugar, instant coffee, and hot water. Put everything together in a bowl, two tablespoons each for one serving and mix them with a hand-mixer - or if you want a little exercise, you can also use a spoon (definitely not recommended!)

Get a pretty cup, throw in some ice cubes and pour fresh milk over it and top it with your frothy coffee mixture, and you’re done!

The #dalgonacoffee hashtag alone has over 94,000 posts on Instagram.

UNTIL TOMORROW

Millennials only need a few days of “home-quarantine” until they come up with another trend that has become SO BIG on Instagram that everyone has been doing it - the “Until Tomorrow” challenge.

So what does it mean?

The Instagram challenge came together with the hashtag #UntilTomorrow which sees users posting funny and weird photos of themselves on Instagram, and users have to keep the picture on their profile for 24 hours!

We definitely enjoyed going through everyone’s embarrassing photos... impressively, the hashtag on Instagram has over 2.3 Million posts. Wow!

STAY AT HOME CHALLENGE

You know how much we love another viral social media challenge to keep us entertained during this MCO period.

The coronavirus had a massive impact on the world especially in the world of sports, and football is one of the sports that is widely disrupted by the coronavirus outbreak.

Football players have found a way of keeping themselves entertained by challenging their fans to use a toilet paper roll and do as many kick-ups as they can before kicking the roll away and nominating someone else to take on the challenge.

Former Youth and Sports Minister, YB Syed Saddiq also joined in the bandwagon when he challenged Malaysians on Twitter to do 20 clap pushups in 17 seconds, and the response is hilarious!

BABY PHOTO CHALLENGE

This is another trend that involves people sharing pictures, and this time people are throwing out some major throwbacks on Instagram!

This challenge is really easy to get involved with! All you need to do is post a picture of yourself as a baby and tag a few friends to get them to do the same.

DRAW SOMETHING CHALLENGE

For the past two weeks, Instagram has been overrun with challenges and viral trends. This one is a simple - yet fun challenge!

The draw something challenge lets users draw an object (basically, anything!) only using the creative tools on the Instagram app and then tag five friends to do it, too!

So if you’re scrolling through your following’s Instagram stories and came across some random drawings of a carrot or a yellow sponge living in a pineapple, don’t be so confused!
