The nine-second video shows the dog being pulled by a rope that was attached to the slow-moving vehicle.
According to police, they were able to locate the dog owners, a 34-year-old man, and his 61-year-old mother, who was allegedly in the car when it happened.
“The dog, according to the man, was their pet that had gone missing and later found in their neighborhood.
“They discovered their dog to be filthy and flea-infested and decided that it was not safe to keep it inside the truck,” he added.
Both the mother and the son were released on police bail after their statements were recorded.
He went on to say that the investigation papers had been sent to Johor’s deputy public prosecutor’s office for further action. The case is being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code and Section 44(1)(a) of the Animal Act 1953.
The poor doggo! He didn’t deserve to be treated that way!
