Since the movement control order was implemented, only one person or the head of the household is allowed to leave the house to do groceries. This is to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Though the Ministry of Works did not specify who is actually the ‘head of the household’, many husbands took it upon themselves to go out and get groceries for the whole family.
Tesco Malaysia recently shared in a Facebook post, a list of various food items and produce complete with Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese translations. There’s even a guide to the different parts of a raw chicken!

Not only that, but they also prepared a list of all types of fish so everyone (including the wives) can tell the difference between ikan kembung and ikan tongkol!

There is also a list of different vegetables that look alike! So your husbands will bring home the right kubis instead of salad!

….they will no longer be confused between daun kucai and daun bawang, either!

So, husbands, dads, head of the households - here’s your ultimate guide to grocery shopping. No more starting a war with your wife over daun limau purut and daun kari!
