Did you know that our beloved Laksa dish is not only loved by Malaysians but also Mutants from the X-Men Universe? So much so, that it even made a special appearance in the new issue of New Mutants!
In issue #10 of New Mutants by Ed Brisson and Flavaino - Glob, a mutant with transparent skin, was seen making laksa in his home on the mutant island, Krakoa.

Glob, whose real name is Robert Herman, was collecting eggs from his chicken coop while reminiscing about rural life in Malaysia. He then gets a visit from the superheroine Illyana Rasputin, otherwise also known as Magik.
Magik then asked Glob the whereabouts of the New Mutants, when he tells her: “I was making them laksa for dinner, and now there’s no one here to eat it.”

We know we love our laksa with fish and prawns, but Glob’s version of a vegetarian laksa sounds amazing! He even shared the recipe, check it out here:
We wonder whether Glob used to live in Penang…
Some people even tried the recipe and it looks good! Now we’re curious to try our own version of Glob’s vegetarian laksa.
This is not the first time that laksa was mentioned in a Marvel’s X-Men comic. Erik Lehnsherr, or more famously known as Magneto, even offered the dish in Issue #1 of Hunt For Wolverine: Mystery In Madripoor by Jim Zub and Thony Silas.
Not only that, Zub and Silas did it again in the fourth issue of Hunt For Wolverine: Mystery In Madripoor when Jubillee offers Lepat Pisang to Psylocke.
It’s great to see Malaysian food being featured in American comics, proving once again that our food is out of this universe!
