A boarding pass is a document provided by an airline during check-in, giving a passenger permission to enter the restricted area of an airport, also known as the airside portion of the airport, and to board the airplane for a particular flight.
…and your boarding pass also includes your personal details like your full name, flight number, and the date and scheduled time for departure.

Now that international travel is up and running again, your social media feed is likely to be flooded with photos of your friends and family flaunting their holiday.
But according to one TikTok user, Jason Ho, it’s actually dangerous to share it on your social media as it contains all of your personal details!
He shared that by posting such a photo, you could be giving away your full name, passport number, passport expiry date, last four digits of your credit card, date of birth, email, and mobile phone number which is ALL the information needed for a scammer to try and trick you into one of their schemes.
Not only that, but with just the information on your boarding pass, he said that people can also make adjustments to your in-flight preferences or worst, cancel your flight!
Alamak, that’s BAD!
“Never ever do this. If you want to do this, please cover with your thumb or something the e-ticket number,” he said in the video.
This is new information for us, too. Thank you for letting us know, Jason!
This is important not only for your safety but as well as your personal details. Please remember this whenever you are traveling, and stay safe, guys!
