A video shared by the Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS recently went viral, showcasing an elderly man in a wheelchair getting robbed in Penang.
The caption reads: “This is a CCTV footage of a snatch robbery that happened near Wisma KASTAM building at Gat Lebuh China, Georgetown, Penang. The victim is an elderly, disabled man in a wheelchair.”
In the 1 minute 23 seconds clip, it can be seen that the suspect was standing next to the elderly man sitting in a wheelchair, and after looking around to make sure that the coast is clear, he then approached the man and tried to grab his belongings.
The elderly man then tried to fight back while holding on to his things, before the robber proceeded to violently hit and shoved the elderly man.

The struggle continued for a few seconds until a bystander came over and tried to help the elderly man while the robber continued kicking and beating the elderly man, while he is still holding on to his things.
After a long struggle, the suspect appeared to limp then walked away empty-handed to a motorcycle that had been waiting for him nearby.
We really hope that the Uncle is okay!
It’s tough times for everyone right now, but this is not right! We hope that the authorities could track down the suspect before anything like this ever happens again.
