We can’t thank our frontliners enough for all their sacrifices, even to the Abang Riders who brave through the stormy weather just so we can eat comfortably at home.
In a recent viral video, a rider was seen on a motorbike with his delivery, struggling through a flooded area in Shah Alam.
The 15-second clip was caught by a driver on the opposite side of the road and was shared on Twitter by user M Shafiq Safian. With the hashtag #kudosrider, Shafiq wrote in a tweet that the rider’s struggle was reminiscent of the children in the villages in Sabah who had to travel via boat just to get to school.
Shafiq’s tweet invited many to acknowledge the sacrifices these frontliners had to go through just for us.
One user pointed out that the rider’s motorcycle might be damaged due to the flooding water.
Another user invites us to reflect on the way we order our food online. Maybe we don’t need to have that one bubble tea just for our rider to travel all the way across town to deliver it to us?
While some shared some tips on how to help riders during this difficult time such as checking the restaurant pick-up distance, maximizing orders and tipping your rider.
We are grateful for all the sacrifices our frontlines made just to serve us. Thank you, heroes!
