Did you know that there are four “public toilets” specially made for cats near a wet market in Pasir Mas, Kelantan?
These “public toilets” are an effort to create a special place for stray cats to go to the loo and at the same time keep the pasar area clean.

Photos of the public toilet have since gone viral on Facebook and also received a lot of positive comments from netizens.
This initiative was started by the Pasir Mas District Council (MDPM) to maintain a clean public area so that the public can come to the wet market and shop for food and necessities comfortably.
Its president, Hazmi Abdul Hamid said that most of the stray cats at the wet market area have used the “public toilets” comfortably and in fact, the cats have become more disciplined and already know where they should go.
More than 600 cats have been in the area since January 2021, and most of them have been spotted using the public toilets.

“MDPM will also ensure that the toilets are well-maintained and cleaned every day by disposing of the cats’ feces at a proper location.
Besides that, the sand and grass work is done every week to ensure that the cats’ public toilets work properly,” he added.
This is amazing! We hope that other states would also follow what Kelantan is doing for their stray cats.
