Amongst all the chaos going around due to the recent coronavirus outbreak – Malaysians have been advised to delay any trips to China.

According to The Star, Soares Chen grew up in Penang but lives and works in Leipzig, Germany and had travelled to Wuhan to celebrate Chinese New Year with his wife’s family.
Chen said that he boarded the flight to Wuhan before the news of human to human transmission of the virus came out, and although the news came out upon their arrival in Wuhan, the family decided to face it with a calm and rational manner.
After the city’s lockdown was announced, Chen decided the best decision was to stay at home and minimize the risk of carrying the virus to other places or getting infected during the journey out.
He also said that they spent all day at home, watching TV and browsing for information on the internet. Although they can go outside, they are not allowed to drive and there is no public transport available for now.
Ever since the lockdown, everyone in Wuhan has been trapped at home and has no idea what is happening in the city.
The local news has also been less informative about what is actually going on, and rumours about overcrowded hospitals and food shortages are said to be making people nervous.
He said that people have the right to know what is actually going on in Wuhan, for them to make the right decisions and for their own safety.
We wish you well, Mr Chen!
