He has already won at the BMX C1 International Challenge in Jakarta and the Sportsexcel Youth BMX Championship, and has taken the national title three times since the age of 13, as reported by The Straits Times.
Darwish told reporters that he was working to save up enough money for three upcoming events - the Chainat BMX Championships in Bangkok next month, and the BMX Championships in Indonesia in May and South Korea in June.
He needs about RM60,000 to participate in these tournaments that offer qualifying points before the World Championships in France in July, and he hopes to make it to that, too!
Not only that, but Darwish also dreams of becoming the first BMX rider in the country to qualify for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, California.
Such huge dreams, and nothing is impossible! We wish you all the best Darwish, and know that we will be supporting you in all your future endeavors.
Can’t wait to watch you compete at the Olympics!
