Guys, please be careful when you’re out alone!

Adrian, a TikTok user recently shared his experience dealing with three separate scammers while waiting for his train from Bukit Bintang at the Merdeka MRT station.

He explained in the video that the incident happened on Saturday (April 2nd) at 2:38 pm when the first man, a Chinese uncle approached him 4 minutes before his train arrived, and asked whether he could speak Chinese.

Adrian thought the Uncle needed help with directions so he was happy to help. Turns out the uncle said he had been duped by his friend and needed money to buy a bus ticket back to Johor.

“I apologized since I didn’t have money on me,” Adrian explained. “I never lend cash to anyone, even my closest friends.”

And then later, another man approached him and told him a story that is almost similar to the uncle, 2 minutes before his train arrive, “Feeling uncomfortable, I left the area and crossed the platform to the opposite side.

“I tried to contact the police or anyone else on staff, but there was no one,” he said.

Just when he thought the worst is over, an Indian man then approached him 1 minute before the train was scheduled to arrive.

“I thought to myself ‘There’s no way this is going to happen again.’”

The man approached him and asked how to get to Nilai. Adrian then gave him a general route to KL Sentral.

It all seemed normal until the man asked if he could borrow RM20 from him. But fortunately, the train arrived on time and Adrian dashed on board as soon as the doors opened.

“In the space of four minutes, three people approached me and asked for money. Are you trying to say that all of this is a coincidence?” he said in his video.

Speaking to SYOK, Adrian said that RapidKL’s Special Action Team (SAT) had reached out to him and they are currently retrieving the CCTV footage of the incident and will keep him updated.

Netizens shared their own experience in the comment section and apparently, these scams have been going on for a while!

How scary!
