In collaboration with local cartoonist Mfafairuz, the RM2.20 store has created a series of billboards that resemble comic panels.
Eco Shop started the buzz by posting parts of the billboards on their Facebook page: "Isn't it true that you all read comics in magazines, newspapers, and online? Today, we want to give you something special, something you've never seen before.
"This is our comic billboard featuring well-known cartoonist Mfafairuz; it helps you to stay alert while driving, especially if you're caught in traffic on your way back for Hari Raya,” the caption reads.
But they also reminded drivers to not get too caught up in reading them, “Remember, you’re still driving! We wish you a pleasant drive and good luck on the road,” they stated in their caption.
The Facebook post has since garnered over 1 thousand comments and over 1.9 thousand shares at the time of writing.
A thread by a user named Baqir praising Eco Shop's marketing strategy has also gone viral on Twitter.
Baqir, who also tweeted parts of the humorous billboard, and dubbed it "copywriting at its finest," has gained over 10,000 likes and 3,000 retweets.
Wahh, so creative!
We hope everyone has a safe journey back to their hometowns and Selamat Hari Raya!
