Kitten “Caught” Travelling Interstate

On 24 May, Malaysians across the nation celebrated Hari Raya either at home, or visiting nearby relatives, as allowed by the government only on the first day of the festive season.

While the morning of Hari Raya is usually chaotic for most families, from making sure our clothes are ironed to preparing all the Raya delicacies, let’s not forget to check our vehicles once a while just in case somebody decides to make it its home.

In a tweet that has since gone viral, Ahmad Faiz (@ahmdfaiz12) shared a funny incident that happened when he was stopped by the police manning the road blocks during Raya morning. He panicked, thinking he was in some sort of trouble, but as it turned out, he wasn’t in the wrong- there was a kitten in his front bonnet this whole time!

From the images shared, the police, the army and the PLUS Highway authorities were seen coming together to help the poor kitten that might have died due to the heat if the family continued with their travels.

The policeman who realized that the kitten was stuck in the car’s engine even explained humorously in a video how he and his team managed to catch the “culprit” who was attempting to illegally travel interstate. He noted that the cat was probably someone’s pet since it had a collar around its neck.

Ahmad Faiz thanked those who were involved in the cat rescue mission and ensured netizens that the kitten was safe and that it was brought back to their housing area.

Thank you to our frontliners for going above and beyond to not just assist us but our pets too! As a reminder, let’s check our vehicles so we won’t put any more animals in danger.
