Kind Motorist Helps University Graduate Who Was Late For His Convocation Due To Traffic

A Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) graduate, R. Kevin was recently stuck in traffic on the Penang bridge last Tuesday (May 24th) and had to hitch a ride from a motorcycle to get to the university for his graduation.

Apparently, a fatal accident caused the traffic congestion on the bridge.

The 28-year-old said he was determined to walk down the hall in his graduation robe and sought the help of a motorcyclist who was willing to help him.

“When I realized it was already 9 am, and my parents and I were still stuck in the unusual traffic, I panicked.

“But I was happy and thankful that so many people who were eager to come to my rescue were willing to take me to USM so that I can celebrate my graduation with my friends,” he told the New Straits Times.

A photo of Kevin clutching his graduation gown and attempting to hitch rides went viral on social media.

He went on to say that he left home in Seberang Jaya with his parents at 6:30 am but did not expect heavy traffic due to a fatal crash.

Wah, what an amazing story! This is what being a Malaysian is all about!
