After two years of restrictions, Malaysians are over the moon about the Hari Raya celebrations. On April 27th, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin announced that the practice of hosting open houses and home visits would finally be allowed again.

But balik kampung also means… being stuck in traffic with hundreds of other cars for hours and hours on the road.

However, a group of young men in Terengganu decided to do something special to cheer up the drivers who were stuck in traffic.

A woman recently shared a short video on TikTok showing a few generous young men handing out drinks to the cars that were caught in traffic. Besides handing out free drinks, they were also seen helping to refill the drivers’ water bottles.

The woman who was recording the video can be heard saying: “Faith in humanity restored!” and they even wished the boys a ‘Selamat Hari Raya’ before driving away.

The video has since garnered over 441.7 thousand views and 47 thousand likes at the time of writing.

That was so kind. Unity is truly our strength as Malaysians!
