Inspired By Veveonah, Now This Sarawak Girl Opted To Camp Out In Order To Get Internet Connection Too

Remember Veveonah Mosibin, who had to camp out in a tree, just so she could attend her online exams?

Well apparently, she’s not the only one, and students in some areas across the country are facing troubles too, when it comes to getting stable internet connection.

Rose, who is a final year student at University Pendidikan Sultan Idris in Perak, shared on her Facebook page that she was inspired by Veveonah’s dedication and method of using a mosquito net to camp outside to study.

She explained in the post that the internet connection in the forest is better and much more stable than in her longhouse area, “There are a few areas around the village that can get better internet access like the hills and the palm plantation.”

“But these areas are not suitable to visit daily and I have a tight schedule every day except for Tuesday and Sunday,” she added.

Just like Veveonah, Rose works at her family farm after she is done with all her online classes.

Though her village is not that far from the town, Rose said she could not afford to make the trip every day due to financial constraints.

“This presentation was supposed to be done last week, but it had to be postponed because I failed to attend the class because I could not get an internet connection.”

There are still so many students in Malaysia who are deprived of the most basic thing that we usually take for granted - which is internet connectivity.

We hope that you did well during your presentation, Rose!
