Handicapped Man Says He Felt Joy While Helping Flood Victims Clean Their Homes In Dengkil

Just because someone has a disability, it doesn’t mean that they can’t help and give back to their community.

Mohamad Shukor Jab is a person with disabilities (OKU) and he proved just that by being one of the volunteers with a group called the “Dirt Buster Team.”

According to Astro AWANI, Shukor volunteered to help the flood victims clean their homes. He does so with crutches due to the loss of one leg following an accident at the age of 11.

However, his spirit and desire to help others enabled him to overcome his shortcomings.

Shukor and the Dirt Buster Team had come to Dengkil to help clean the homes of flood victims.

He told reporters that he felt sympathy and was sad to see that most of the flood victims had lost their homes and belongings, but it brings him joy that he is able to help them in any way that he can.

“I may be an OKU, but looking at their conditions I can’t just sit back at home. I feel like I need to come here and help them,” he said.

Dengkil is also one of the areas that were affected by the floods apart from several other areas in the state of Selangor.

What a selfless thing to do. Thank you, Shukor, for your time and energy in helping those in need. You truly are an inspiration!
