It’s important for us to help one another especially in times of crisis, and these villagers in Sabah showed us exactly what that meant.
Facebook user Fadzil Haji Aziz shared photos of fresh fruits and vegetables hanging on fences and spread out on tables outside various houses in Kampung Pogunon, Penampang, Sabah with signs urging families to help themselves to a bag, free of charge!
The vegetables include chilies, bananas, papayas and even soko (Lagos spinach).

In his caption, Fadzil said that he respected the villagers in offering free fresh produce to the neighbors who may have been struggling to sustain themselves financially during the Movement Control order (MCO).
The kind-hearted neighbours even put up signs to remind people to stay at home.
Fadzil told Malay Mail that the photos were taken by a friend in Ranau, a district known for being the largest highland vegetable producer in Sabah.
Fadzil’s post has been shared by more than 5,000 people on Facebook so far and was even shared across Twitter with many praising the villagers’ sense of togetherness during this difficult time.
Well done to the people of Kampung Pogunon for leading by example!
