Elderly Man In Kelantan Mistakenly Pays RM1,234.56 Using e-Wallet For Bananas

An elderly man from Kota Bharu, Kelantan mistakenly paid RM1,234.56 using e-Wallet for a comb of bananas. 

The 60-year-old man filed a complaint with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) to get his money back, as reported by Harian Metro.

The man bought around 1kg of bananas from a grocery store and paid using an e-Wallet application on November 10th. The price of the bananas were only RM7.30 but he accidentally keyed in RM1,234.56 when paying. 

He noticed there was an error after arriving home from shopping. 

Kelantan KPDNHEP chief enforcement officer, Azanizam Affendi confirmed that the ministry has conducted an investigation in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and has since resolved the matter on December 9th.

The man previously went back to the grocery store to get his money back but he was informed that the shop had changed owners, which prompted him to file a complaint to KPDNHEP to resolve the issue.
