Foot reflexology is an ancient Chinese alternative medical practice which involves the application of pressure on specific points on the feet. The massage is said to manipulate one’s qi which results in general health benefits.

In early May, The Star (6 May 2020) reported that Dennis Samford, the deputy president of the Melaka Tourism Business Club, spoke out on the behalf of foot reflexology operators, who he said are at risk of going out of business.
Last week, a Malaysian Redditor took matters into their own hands and posted a picture of ‘selipar durian’.

Ingenious? Many other Malaysian Redditors thought so.
Some commented on possible health benefits, likening the slippers to getting reflexology or acupuncture.
