Yes, quick-release steering wheels do exists but they are commonly used on race cars during competition, which helps the driver enter and exit the tight confines of the racing cockpit.
It also helps the safety personnel to easily remove an injured or stuck driver during an accident.

However, this type of steering wheels are not for normal cars and it can be dangerous!
Recently, a video went viral after a man was seen detaching his steering wheel while driving on the highway.
In the video, a man who was recording the video can be heard saying: “Oh my God, the steering wheel detached!” before the car started skidding on the road and the driver had no way to control the vehicle.
The car allegedly swerved and ended up in the gutter. Fortunately, nobody was hurt.
Aiyo, this is so dangerous lah, guys! Please don’t main-main on the road and drive safely!
