If there’s one thing all Malaysians look forward to during Hari Raya is going from one open house to the next, catching up with friends and relatives and enjoying all the Raya delicacies. While the government has only allowed for Raya visitations on the first day of Raya, who says Raya this year has to be any different?

A video posted by N9 Info Traffic on Facebook, simply titled “Hari Raya Aidilfitri” showed how inventive Malaysians can be in celebrating the festive season, while still obeying the social distancing rule!

Families in this local residential neighbourhood, all decked out in their stunning Hari Raya outfits, decided to still partake in the Hari Raya tradition of open houses by setting up picnic areas in front of their respective houses so they could enjoy the company of one another while remaining still remaining safe distance from each other.

There were around 20 families that were involved in the picnic/open house that was also organized as a potluck. One house was set up as the buffet area, with only the head of family allowed to take the food. Everyone’s attendance was taken by QR code along with their temperatures as well.  The organizers of the event went the extra mile by handing out face masks and sanitizers for all attendees!

Throughout the 1-minute-8-second clip portrayed the true spirit of Hari Raya, with families seen happily enjoying their meals and the company of one another.
