Recently, Malaysia has been applauded for its effort in containing the spread of COVID-19 with its swift response in banning cross-border travels and implementing the Movement Control Order (MCO).
One United States national who was recently admitted as a COVID-19 patient in Malaysia took the time to thank our frontliners for all its support.
British-American actor, Adam Bond, arrived in Kuala Lumpur to shoot a feature film that has now unfortunately folded due to the COVID-19 crisis. He tested positive for COVID-19 on 18 March and was undergoing treatment at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL). After three weeks, he has now fully recovered and is under self-quarantine for a further 14 days.
Adam documented his journey on Instagram, and he did not forget to thank all the medical frontliners that have been caring for him throughout his stay at the hospital.
Most recently, Adam appeared in a video posted by the United States Embassy in KL to thank the dedicated Malaysian medical staff who helped his recovery as well as the teams at the US Embassy and British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur for the support that they had given to him.
He also urged his fellow countrymen to follow the latest travel advice posted on both the US Embassy and British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur’s websites.
He added that while the frontliners are effectively sacrificing their time in responding to the crisis, we should also do our part by practising social distancing and to stay home at all times.
Adam also responded to the video by tweeting on his personal account that he owed a huge thank you to the teams in Malaysia & to all of the doctors, nurses, medical staff, and custodians at Hospital Kuala Lumpur for all of their help & support.
“We are all in this together, and we will get through it together!” Adam ended his tweet.
Adam is currently waiting for an opportunity to fly back to the US.
We are happy to know that Adam is safe and well, all thanks to our amazing frontliners!
