Now that Malaysia has entered the ‘new normal’ phase, even our traditional baju Melayu now comes with an added accessory - the face mask!

Local designer, Kel Wen Tan have just recently launched a baju Melayu collection that comes with a matching face mask, so that you can be safe from the COVID-19 virus during Hari Raya but still look stylish!

According to The Star, local designer Kel Wen Tan said that this collection of baju Melayu with matching face masks was a concept meant to make a fashion statement.

Who said face masks can’t be fashionable, right?

The baju Melayu retains its traditional tailoring technique - kekek, pesak and cekak musang but at the same time it is tailored to the current times when the world is battling the COVID-19 outbreak.

He said: “The only difference is that it is designed to be worn bigger than your actual body size and it is easy to style with many pants variations.”

“And with the COVID-19 pandemic, I am introducing a matching fabric mask for the ‘baju oversaiz’ instead of wearing matching pants.”

It comes in so many different colours and they’re all so cantik, we don’t know which one to get!
