Are you familiar with a Twitter account that has the handle @cheminahsayang? It belongs to no other than our beloved Raja Permaisuri Agong and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah. Her account is a joy to follow, with updates ranging from food to adorable selfies - sometimes with a good dose of humour accompanying the pictures!
Her daughters, Princesses Tengku Puteri Afzan and Tengku Puteri Jihan also occasionally participate in the fun on Twitter to the delight of most Malaysian netizens. What is more charming than a royal family sharing bits and pieces of their daily life, after all?
In what may be the most retweeted single-word tweet in Malaysia, Tengku Puteri Afzan recently tweeted “Assalamualaikum” to her sister, Tengku Puteri Jihan. The younger princess cheekily retweeted it with the caption “da jia hao”, to which Tengku Puteri Afzan then replied with “eppadi irukinge vanekam”, which is Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq’s signature greeting every time he addresses netizens.

The internet, being a very small place, brought it to Saddiq’s attention and he jokingly replied that the next thing to wait for was a close up video. Until today, we have no idea why he records his videos so close to his face, but it has become something of a laugh among netizens, with the young minister taking it in stride.
Netizens being netizens, they promptly took the chance to hype Saddiq up with ridiculous praises, as is the trend. The entire thing makes for a rather entertaining (although maybe inappropriate) read. One Twitter user started off by thanking Saddiq for settling his bills and for giving him a daily allowance while another guy thanked the minister for buying him shawarma everyday. The most ridiculous (and possibly our favourite) one was a tweet in which one Twitter user thanked Saddiq for lending him his kidneys and even his lungs.
The internet never disappoints, and this hilarious interaction between the respected people in our country is a cute example.
