Muhammad Nasir Mustapha always looks forward to celebrating Malaysia’s National Day every single year, and to show his patriotism and love for the country, he would collect old and used Jalur Gemilang flags around Tanah Merah, Kelantan.
He said that he would collect old and used flags that were thrown away, either on the side of the road or anywhere that he could find them, and bring them back home to be cleaned.
He has done this since 1998.
According to Harian Metro, Muhammad Nasir, also famously known by his community as Pok Sir Bendera, said that at first he received backlash from his community because he liked collecting old and dirty Jalur Gemilang flags that were thrown away by the roadside.

But because of the love he has for his country, he doesn’t mind what people say about him.
The 62-year-old hoped that his habit would inspire other people and future generations to appreciate the Jalur Gemilang flag.
Since his collection of flags has grown, every year, he would cover his whole house and van with the Jalur Gemilang flags, to show his patriotism and love for Malaysia.
