A Family Graduation Like No Other

No one in their right mind would want to miss their graduation ceremony, the single most important day of a student’s life. But what if you can’t go out and the ceremony is canceled?

Welt, fret not! If you can’t go to your graduation ceremony, it can come to you!

A video uploaded by Twitter user Nabeel Albukhary showed how he and his family celebrated his sister’s achievements by having their own graduation ceremony at their house’s porch!

Nabeel wrote that since his sister, Sharifah, could not attend her convocation ceremony at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM), the whole family decided to recreate the special ceremony just to make her happy.

In the video, you can see his family members working together to make the event a success. One of his siblings read Sharifah’s name out loud, to be called onto the stage a.k.a the porch.  Another oversaw the music, the same “caklempong” music played during special events at Malaysian universities. There was also one who was recording the once in a lifetime event and another sibling acting as an audience member at the side, witnessing the precious moment.

Most importantly, their mother played the role as Vice-Chancellor, and gave out her graduation scroll, making the whole experience more precious than ever.

Nabeel’s tweet went viral across Twitter, with more than 10K retweets to date! Many wished Sharifah a hearty congratulation while they applauded the family’s effort for being so supportive of one another.

Nabeel replied to all of them by asking them to pray for the wellbeing of his family.

Congratulations to Sharifah and well done to this family for making the best out of a difficult situation.
