A woman was given the original iPhone in 2007 but she has never opened it because she didn’t wait to get rid of her other phone.
And recently, the factory-sealed, first generation iPhone, has been sold at an auction on Sunday (19 February) for a whopping $63,356.40 which is around RM280,953.96, over 100 times its original price!

The phone that was put on auction on 2 February had 27 people bidding on it, and was expected to sell for $50,000.
According to USA Today, the phone’s original owner, Karen Green had appraised it in 2019, and it was estimated to be worth $5,000 because it was an 8GB phone instead of the 4GB one. She told reporters that she got the phone as a gift when she was promoted to a management position.
“I left the phone on a shelf for years, unopened and unused. However, I didn’t want to get rid of my new phone,” she explained.
Something then sparked her interest after seeing another original iPhone, unopened and unused, selling on an e-Commerce platform for $10,000, “I thought, I have the original iPhone.
“I then called my son and told him to go get the phone and make sure it wasn’t opened.”
And yes, it was worth it because 15 years later, she is now $63,000 richer!
