The Terengganu state government is offering free honeymoons worth $440 which is around RM2,040 in an effort to save marriages that are on the verge of breaking up.
The honeymoon package includes counseling and is intended to curb the state’s rising divorce rates, according to The Star.

Terengganu Welfare Community Development and Women Affairs committee chairman, Ashaari Idris said, “We can understand newlyweds having problems understanding one another, where a minor skirmish could lead to separation.
“But it is unacceptable for those married for more than two decades to file for divorce,” he added.
He also added that the government had completed a successful pilot project in which 25 unhappy marriages were chosen for a three-day honeymoon package that cost about RM1,500 each.
This is a great idea. We hope it works!
