Prolintas LKSA recently took to the social media platform X to address this issue. They emphasized that tailgating, where drivers intentionally follow closely behind other vehicles, causes significant inconvenience to fellow highway users.

The statement issued by Prolintas LKSA highlighted the legal consequences, stating that such bullies can face fines of up to RM1,000 or a maximum jail term of three months.

To further emphasize the severity of tailgating, an attached infographic revealed that over 40% of road users feel threatened when subjected to this dangerous practice.

Tailgating is perilous because it significantly reduces the reaction time available to both the tailgater and the vehicle in front. In the event of sudden braking or any unforeseen incident, the lack of sufficient space to stop or maneuver can lead to catastrophic collisions, causing injuries or even fatalities.

It's a dangerous practice that not only endangers lives but also disrupts the flow of traffic and creates a hostile driving environment. Therefore, maintaining a safe following distance is paramount for road safety, ensuring that everyone reaches their destination unharmed.

In light of these concerns, Prolintas LKSA strongly encourages all drivers to maintain a safe distance between their vehicles and the cars in front of them. This simple act can help ensure the safety and well-being of everyone on the road.
