The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has unveiled the LESTARIPendidikan campaign, an ambitious initiative designed to secure the future of Malaysia’s higher education system.
Rooted in the nation’s MADANI vision of wellbeing, social justice, and sustainability, the campaign underscores the shared responsibility of borrowers, stakeholders, and the community in maintaining access to quality education for all.

PTPTN Chairman, YBhg. Dato’ Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim, emphasised the significance of this initiative, “Higher education is the foundation of a progressive society. The sustainability of the education fund is crucial to empowering individuals, improving living standards, and nurturing human capital for national development.”
A Lifeline for Future Generations
LESTARIPendidikan is more than just a campaign — it’s a call to action. With over RM3 billion required annually to support 450,000 current borrowers and 150,000 new ones, many from low-income families, the sustainability of the fund is at stake. Every repayment made by borrowers directly contributes to the education of future students, ensuring the cycle of opportunity continues.
Dato’ Seri Norliza added, “Repaying PTPTN loans isn’t merely fulfilling a personal obligation. It’s about ensuring the next generation has the same chance to achieve their dreams. Without sustained repayments, the education of thousands of students could be jeopardised.”

Flexibility for Borrowers
Acknowledging the financial challenges borrowers may face, PTPTN has introduced flexible repayment options under the #PTPTNBolehBincang initiative. Borrowers can customise repayment plans to match their financial capacity, making it easier to stay on track.
Additionally, the #PTPTNSediaBantu programme offers a variety of fast, secure repayment channels to simplify the process. Whether borrowers need to make payments or seek guidance, PTPTN ensures convenience at every step.
A Shared Responsibility
The campaign goes beyond borrowers, actively engaging universities, alumni, and NGOs to foster a culture of shared responsibility. By involving key stakeholders, LESTARIPendidikan ensures Malaysia’s higher education system remains robust, inclusive, and accessible for future generations.
Dato’ Seri Norliza concluded, “With collective action and community support, we can safeguard the future of higher education, ensuring it remains a beacon of hope and progress for all Malaysians.”
