The 49-seconds CCTV video has since gone viral on social media in front of a home in Taman Bernam Baru.

According to Malay Mail, its director, Yusoff Shariff said that his team is looking into a report from a local who claimed to have seen a clouded leopard roaming around his house area on Monday (23 January).

He said “The public is urged to use caution if the animal approaches them and not to encourage it. Avoid entering the forest area since there are leopards nearby the Tapah Forest Reserve, according to our records.

“We are currently monitoring the surrounding area and if we are able to catch it, it will be brought back to its original habitat,” he told BERNAMA.

Meanwhile, Muallim district police chief Supt. Mohd Hasni stated that his team also got a report from the resident on the same day at around 6 pm.

Remember, if you see a wild animal roaming around your area - the first thing you should do is find a safe spot for you to hide, don’t provoke or call the animal as it would scare them and call the local authorities IMMEDIATELY!

Stay safe!
