COVID-19: Ministry of Health Urges Employers to Reinstate Work-From-Home (WFH) Arrangements

Amidst the escalating numbers of COVID-19 cases, there are currently no considerations for reinstating the Movement Control Order (MCO).

However, the Ministry of Health strongly advocates a return to the work-from-home (WFH) setup.

In the earlier stages of the global pandemic, the WFH approach became a necessity worldwide to mitigate the spread of the virus. Aligning with this strategy, the Ministry of Health, led by Datuk Seri Zulkifli Ahmad, is endorsing the idea of reintroducing WFH measures, as reported by China Press.

Datuk Seri Zulkifli Ahmad addressed the recent discussions surrounding the epidemic, acknowledging the criticisms leveled against him for not providing an immediate announcement during a press conference. Some individuals accused him of being anticlimactic, expressing their anticipation for significant directives like the immediate enforcement of mask-wearing mandates.

Emphasising the reliance on evidence-driven decision-making, he highlighted the implementation of the Enhanced Alert System (HAS). Any substantial changes in the future, he assured, will be rooted in scientific evidence rather than emotional reactions…

At present, the government underscores the importance of adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the virus's spread. This includes consistent mask-wearing, avoidance of crowded places, maintaining physical distance, and frequent handwashing.

In a recent update, the Ministry of Health (MOH) foresees a decline in COVID-19 cases by January 2024. Despite this optimistic projection, individuals are urged to fulfil their responsibilities by following necessary precautions.

Should one suspect symptoms, a prompt self-check and self-isolation in the case of a positive diagnosis remain crucial steps!
