The Malaysian Meteorological Department (METMalaysia) has issued a crucial warning about impending thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds across various regions.
The safety of Malaysians is of paramount importance during such weather conditions, and it's vital to stay informed and take precautions.

In an official statement released at 4 pm, METMalaysia, a government agency under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, highlighted the severe weather conditions expected to impact specific areas until 7 pm on November 7th.
This warning is particularly significant when thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20mm/hour are expected to last for more than an hour. It's important to note that thunderstorm warnings are short-term and typically remain valid for a period not exceeding six hours in each issue.

Kelantan and Terengganu are the only states not expected to be affected.
METMalaysia has issued a total of eight such warnings today, underlining the gravity of the situation. Additionally, METMalaysia director-general Muhammad Helmi Abdullah has provided valuable information regarding the upcoming Northeast Monsoon season, which is set to commence on November 11th and conclude in March 2024.
During the initial phase of the Northeast Monsoon, four to six episodes of heavy rain are anticipated in Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, and western Sarawak, from November to January 2024.
It's important to be aware that in the presence of strong monsoon rain combined with a low-pressure weather system, continuous heavy rains may occur in other states across Malaysia, potentially leading to flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
