Police have since arrested the man after the video went viral online. In the 1-minute and 47-seconds video, the man was seen shouting at his wife - even pushing and slapping her, before hitting her with his helmet.

According to NST, the 35-year-old man, Mohd Shamsuri was charged with deliberately assaulting his wife, 35-year-old Siti Norhashikin with a red helmet in front of a restaurant at Paloh 2 at 5 pm last Wednesday (25 January).
He was charged under Section 324 and Section 325A of the Penal Code which carries a maximum 10 years’ jail or fine or whipping or any of the punishments, while the Section 326A of the Penal Code, if convicted carries imprisonment for a term which may extend to twice of the maximum term.
