The 14 and 15-year-old boys arrived in Malaysia on Friday (June 24th) after their documents and other matters were finally resolved… The two boys were allegedly released on April 2nd after their families paid a ransom.
The captors initially asked for 300,000 yuan, which is around RM197,313.57 from the families, but after some negotiation over the phone, they agreed to let the two boys go for a lower amount.
The two teens were released by the syndicate, who couldn’t find a use for them after they failed to reach their “targets” in luring customers with a love scam.

According to a report by The Straits Times, one of the boys said that he was attracted to a job advertisement online that offers customer service jobs with salaries of RM5,000 to RM7,000!
Oh, the poor boys, it must be so scary for them! We’re glad that they’re now safe at home in Malaysia.
