And that’s not his only accomplishment! The 28-year-old tower runner equals the previous record set by Mexican tower runner, Alexis Trujillo in 2020 by running 108 stories and 1,455 steps.

The steps were 260 meters high and he completed the climb in just six minutes and 46 seconds. That’s very impressive!

He also beat his own record last year in February where he ran up the same tower and finished the race with a record of six minutes and 57 seconds.

According to BERNAMA, the second and third places were claimed by American tower runners Mark Ewell, who finished his run in 8 minutes 42 seconds and Mark Henderson clocking in at 8 minutes 54 seconds.

“I will be back next year to aim for 6 minutes 30 seconds!” he said.

The ‘Scale The Strat Tower’ is a fundraising event for the American Lung Association in upholding the mission of ‘healthy lungs and clean air.’

What an achievement! Congratulations Wai Ching, Malaysians are proud of you!
