According to the Travelness website, referencing the Global Destination City Index by Mastercard, Kuala Lumpur has achieved an impressive 6th position in the 2023 list of the most visited cities.

This comprehensive study evaluates cities based on total international overnight visitor arrivals and cross-border spending. By analyzing global travel patterns and their impact on urban economies, the index not only provides insights into the current status but also predicts potential visitor growth for the upcoming year, as stated by Travelness.
The data reveals that Kuala Lumpur has welcomed 13.79 million visitors worldwide this year, surpassing renowned cities like New York, Seoul, and Tokyo. New York secured the seventh position, followed by Istanbul, Tokyo, and Antalya.
While Bangkok claims the title of the world's most visited city with 22.78 million international visitors, Kuala Lumpur's impressive ranking places it among the elite, with Paris, London, Dubai, and Singapore rounding out the top five in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place, respectively.
