Caretaker Government Will Take Action Against Students Selling Their Subsidized Tablets!

A recent incident involving students selling government-sponsored tablets on e-commerce websites has caused widespread outrage.

Aside from Malaysians expressing their disapproval, the country’s lawmakers have also come up to condemn the behavior of students who sold their subsidized tablets for upgraded versions or are using the money for other purposes.

Interim Communications and Multimedia Minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa has confirmed on Tuesday (October 25th) that the PerantiSiswa tablets were actually being sold online.

“Action will be taken against students who sell their PerantiSiswa tablets. Names of the students will be displayed on the PerantiSiswa web and their universities will also be notified,” he said as reported by BERNAMA.

So far, 14 of the tablets have been sold nationwide.

Tan Sri Annuar Musa also stated that selling the tablets is irresponsible and similar to breaking the agreement they made when they receive the tablets.

Other politicians, like the former youth and sports minister, YB Syed Saddiq also spoke up and criticized the actions of those students stating that there are many other students who are in worse positions who need the tablets for their studies.

“The tablets are to be used for studying, not for selling,” he stated in a Twitter video he posted.

How irresponsible!

These tablets are paid for by the government to help B40 students in need. Guys, be responsible and considerate towards other people!
