A new international flight route connecting Ipoh, Malaysia, to Bangkok, Thailand, is on the horizon for Perak residents.
The Perak State Government is currently engaged in discussions with the Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA) to establish this flight route. Airlines in Thailand are actively promoting diverse tour packages to entice tourists from Thailand to visit Perak.

According to a report by BERNAMA, Loh Sze Yee, the Chairman of Perak State Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development Committee, has urged tourism stakeholders in Perak to gear up for an influx of Thai tourists. This readiness includes learning certain Thai dialects, along with customs and cultural aspects, to enhance interactions with Thai visitors.
Loh stated, "In addition to our traditional tourists, like those from China, we aim to attract a significant number of visitors from Thailand, especially given that Perak shares a border with Thailand."
Loh emphasized that the Perak State Government is concentrating on creating more tourism offerings by fostering initiatives and taking a more assertive approach to promoting the state's tourism products.
