A Filipino husband and wife were arrested on 19th November during a raid at a house in Pandan Indah for allegedly possessing counterfeit MyKad identification cards.
According to Harian Metro, the couple admitted to purchasing the fake MyKad cards for RM250 each from a syndicate agent in Kuala Lumpur two years ago.

The National Registration Department (JPN) revealed that the raid was carried out after two weeks of surveillance on the couple, with the 40-year-old wife and 53-year-old husband originally hailing from Basilan, Philippines.
In a statement, JPN said, “Both individuals are from Basilan, Philippines, with the wife aged 40 and the husband aged 53.”
The suspects admitted to working as security guards in Malaysia, using the counterfeit MyKad cards to secure employment and move around freely. Investigations also revealed they are fluent in Malay, have a child back in the Philippines, and likely entered Malaysia illegally.
The couple has been detained and will appear at the Kuala Lumpur Court today (20 November) to face charges under Regulation 25(1)(e) of the National Registration Regulations 1990. If convicted, they could face up to three years in prison, a fine of up to RM20,000, or both.
JPN emphasised that these actions are necessary to uphold the law and ensure appropriate punishment for those who commit such offences.
