Bahasa Melayu Is Now Being Used On Signs At Famous Tourist Spots In South Korea!

The South Korean government has started to use Bahasa Melayu on many of their signs after a surge of Malaysian tourists in the country.

Zakaria Azizi, who shared the photos in the Malay Dialects (Indonesian, Malaysian and Other Malay Variants) Facebook page of Bahasa Melayu being used on signs in popular tourist spots in South Korea.

“The South Korean government is happy to put in this effort seeing that many Malaysians and Indonesians have been visiting the country, and it’s also to make it easier for them to get around.

“Due to the increasing number of visitors from these two countries, the government has decided to use Bahasa Malaysia in their signs,” he said.

Though there are some inaccurate uses of the Malay in the signs, the efforts made by the South Korean government should be commended! And hey, we still understand it even though it’s a little wrong, right?

Other than Malay, there are also several other languages in the signs as well like English, Mandarin and Japanese!

What a great idea! Maybe other countries, including Malaysia should do what the South Koreans are doing.
