It is only compulsory to wear face masks in crowded public places!
Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob stressed that it is not necessary to don a face mask if you’re alone and practising physical distancing.
He made a clarification on this issue as many seem to be still confused about the SOPs for the wearing of face masks.
“There are many public places including parks, but if you are alone there is no need to wear a mask because it is only compulsory in crowded public places. In crowded markets, buses and LRT, it is a must to wear face masks.
“But if you are alone or there is physical distancing between those present, for example in restaurants, it is not necessary to wear masks. You can’t eat with your mask on,” he said during his daily press briefing yesterday (December 15th).
This comes after a social media report went viral about an individual who was issued with a summons for not wearing a face mask despite being alone in a public area.
But guys, just to be safe, how bout we keep those masks on, yeah?
