According to The Star, Wangsa Maju OCPD Supt Rajab Ahad Ismail said the two men, aged 31 and 40, were detained at a hotel in Jalan Pudu at about 2 am today (November 24th).
“We believe the suspects were involved in various robberies and vehicle thefts in Setapak and Sentul,” he said
The two suspects have previous criminal records, including for drug-related offences.
Supt Rajab added that the suspects will be remanded for further investigations.
“We will complete the investigation and forward the investigation paper to the deputy public prosecutor. We are grateful for the cooperation shown by all parties that led to the arrests.”
In the 45-second clip, the victim can be seen standing at the pharmacy’s cashier counter to make payment, before one of the men approaches her from behind and then tugs on her necklaces.
After a brief struggle with the victim and the cashier, the man, who was in black and wearing a face mask then proceeds to slap the woman across the face in the incident that happened on Saturday night (November 21st), as reported by the New Straits Times.
He then snatches the necklace and runs away.
The two necklaces are believed to have been worth about RM10,000.
