Transport Minister Approves Of MOH’s Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Facility

What do fast food outlets, car wash centers, and coronavirus testing facilities have in common?

Well, apparently, they all have “drive-thru” services!

That’s right! The Health Ministry (MOH) actually has a drive-thru COVID-19 testing facility, and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has given it the thumbs up.

Dr Wee is undergoing a swab test after returning from campaigning in Sabah, and he took to Instagram to say he was impressed at how the testing process was conducted.

Hari ini, saya sekali lagi menjalani “swab test” di kabin khas “drive thru” yang disediakan KKM. Harap dapat keputusan negatif bagi saringan RT-PCR sebelum saya boleh dibebaskan daripada kuarantin di rumah. Kalau dahulunya hanya dilengkapi dengan PPE, kini para petugas KKM ditempatkan di bilik khas yang dihadang cermin dan sentiasa dinyahkuman bertujuan memisahkan petugas dengan pesakit (patient) atau lebih tepat lagi orang yang menjalani ‘swab test’. Terima kasih ‘frontliners’ yang berkhidmat dengan cemerlang ketika dunia berdepan dengan penularan pandemik COVID-19. #KitaMestiMenang

“If previously, Health Ministry workers were only covered with PPE (personal protective equipment), now they are placed in a special room where a mirror wall separates the staff and the patient who is undergoing the swab test.

“The wall is consistently disinfected and sanitised,” he said.

Dr Wee is currently in self-quarantine, and he’s of course, hoping his test result comes back negative.
