There Have Been More Malaysians Infected With Dengue Than COVID-19 In The Past 6 Months

Dengue has affected more people with 50,511 cases and 88 deaths in the past 6 months than COVID-19, with an average of 8% increase in the last eight weeks.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Setiap negara di dunia diuji dengan pandemik COVID-19 termasuk Malaysia. Berlandaskan usaha merealisasikan norma baharu, usaha menghapuskan jangkitan denggi juga perlu diketengahkan dalam norma baharu. Terdapat peningkatan kes denggi sejak 8 minggu yang lalu dengan purata 8% seminggu. Sejak Januari sehingga 13 Jun, seramai 88 orang telah meninggal dunia akibat denggi. Berdasarkan trend kes denggi dalam tempoh 5 tahun, KKM menjangkakan GELOMBANG KEDUA denggi bermula awal Jun hingga September 2020. Bersama kita laksanakan “10 minit hapuskan Aedes” dengan menghapuskan tempat pembiakan Aedes di sekitar penempatan kita setiap minggu.

According to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the states that have recorded the highest number of cases are: 

  1. Selangor - 28, 741 cases
  2. Kuala Lumpur - 5, 083 cases
  3. Johor - 4,680
  4. Sabah - 2,454
  5. Perak - 1,899
  6. Kelantan - 1,781
  7. Negeri Sembilan - 1,372
  8. Pahang - 1,340

In their Instagram post, the Ministry of Health said that despite the country recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, efforts to eliminate dengue infections also need to be highlighted.

“Based on the trend of dengue cases over the past five years, the ministry expects a second wave of dengue cases starting from June to September, this year”.

Let’s take 10 minutes out of our day to hapuskan Aedes, as we get rid of the Aedes mosquitoes breeding grounds. Don’t forget that dengue can also be dangerous to you and your loved ones.
